Earth Day Every Day
You can make the difference!
Earth Week 2011 was energizing! Thanks to all who participated and especially to our dedicated volunteers! Both schools encouraged waste free lunches, collected worn-out shoes for recycling, and had a variety of games and activities to get the kids excited about taking care of the environment. We hope that families will continue to avoid disposables all year long.
At Pleasant Ridge, the kids really got involved with the garden.... the Organic Pantry Project at Pleasant Ridge. Much of the produce grown here by students and outside groups will be donated to the Northfield Township Food Pantry. If you are interested in being involved with this terrific project, please contact Jen Roberts: jen.rob@comcast.net.
For environmental ideas and info, please visit our district-wide site: www.takebabysteps.org.

Environmental Mission:
To educate the school community about reducing waste in our landfills by teaching the "3 R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)" and Waste Free lunch philosophies.
